About CKM
Definition/Introduction – Krav Maga in Hebrew means ‘contact combat’ or ‘contact fighting’ and the term is generic in the same sense that the term ‘self-defense’ is. There are many systems/styles of Krav Maga including Commando Krav Maga. Commando Krav Maga, also referred to as CKM, is the system of ‘contact fighting’ created by Moni Aizik. It has recently been modified and released to the civilian sector. Evolution – Since its conception, CKM has and continues to evolve in order to deal with modern threats. “Reality Not Sport” – There are no tournaments in CKM. It is a reality-based system of self defense meant for survival. As such, there are no rules or regulations for CKM tactics. It is based on principles similar to guerilla warfare – engage the enemy quickly, create as much damage as possible in a short period of time and disengage immediately. Techniques include eye gouges, groin strikes, biting, striking the throat and other effective tactics. “Training” – We train under realistic situations that you would encounter in the street. Training includes dealing with surprise attacks, multiple attackers and attackers with weapons, ground survival, and strikers. The pressure test is a live action drill we use in CKM to simulate realistic street confrontations. “Simplicity is Genius” – CKM is based on simple and reflexive moves. It has been proven that under extreme stress, any movement that involves more than 2 gross motor skills most likely won’t work. As well, it is very hard to remember any technique that involves more than 5 or 6 components. That’s why the techniques in CKM are designed to be simple and effective. More importantly, many of the techniques are universal so they can be performed regardless of the direction of the attack. “Benefits” – Better yourself both mentally and physically. Improve your confidence and your level of conditioning.

Self-Defense (Self-Rescue) may be more Mental than Physical

Being from the West and Having spent a lot of time around Dad and Grandpa, I was privileged to Learn a lot of thing lost to my generation. Riding horses & ATV's, Rounding up cattle, Shooting all kind of guns, we branded, fixed fence, Tracked and hunted for food, I was very lucky to live in the Mountains most of my childhood. Comparing our mental condition to that of my counterparts who grew up in town, I have noticed a shocking amount of self-reliance missing from the majority of people. When town is 30 min or more away you must have a way different way of thinking to survive.
If we had a medical issue we had to stabilize it (stop the bleeding so we could even get to town alive), and then get driving to the hospital. If you broke your arm out riding somewhere in the mountains, you knew that if you lay where you fell you would not live to see tomorrow, you did what it took to either catch your ride or walk your butt to help. If a fire started we put it out because by the time the fire department got there from town many acres would be burned. When I rode Bulls I was told no matter what, even if your leg is broken with the bone coming out, get your butt on the safe side of the fence before you pass out or the Bull may come back and kill you.
When we called the cops it was to come get the person we were detaining or had shot, not to come and make the bad man leave us alone. The fact is in almost every aspect of your life the responsibility must be yours. Make this your motto "If it is to be it is up to me". Because most violent confrontations happen in seconds no one can realistically help you in time, you must be able to save your own life. I believe in self-rescue. Just as important as learning to change your own flat tire or perform CPR, Ever-More so is Combat survival. Get the training needed to handle an attack with and without weapons, as well as multiple individuals. The ability to Self-Protect is like having a spare tire I hope I never need it but it sure is handy if/When I do.

Millionaires, People of Means and Military

What could these groups have in common? They are all potential targets of Theft, violence and acts of terrorism. Let’s face it any criminal will get more money from a wealthy person than a homeless man living under a bridge.
I’ll grant it to you that most of us don’t have access to millions in cash. But the fact that you are able to read this information proves you have means, a little above the average people throughout the world. Because you work and save for a better life you have means that some will target. Look around the opportunities that existed for the last several hundred years are not so abundant, many more people are turning to lives of crime. For the folks that are managing to weather this economic storm and stay above broke, this information is for you.
If Violence comes calling, What is your plan for protecting:
1. Yourself (why list yourself first, Simple if you are dead You cannot protect your family or property)
2. Family
3. Friends --hopefully you think like I do (But 3 and 4 can be reorganized), I believe that a good friend is more valuable than my cash, I can make more money but a good friend is hard to find)
4. Assets
Are you of the opinion that your cell phone will save you, maybe even the police? You carry a weapon and know how to use it, great when was the last time you shoot with your heart rate above 140 at multiple targets?
Are you relying on 8+ man Armed Teams to provide 24-7 protection (Great idea- Still, Crap happens and that kind of protection does eat into your treasure)?
Is it wise to train yourself as well as your family with abilities to fight, both with and without weapons? For me and Mine I believe so, When I travel with people that are prepared to deal with violence many potential problems are avoided. Should something happen I know what my family or team will and should do. This is a great comfort. Can you and your family shoot under stress and hit 6” targets at greater than 25 yards, can they survive an attack by several armed thugs? If your answer is no or I am not sure. Then Set up an appointment let’s get started, We can be a great help, by providing training and skills to prepare you with abilities for self-protection and situational awareness. MOST PEOPLE (You did not become successful by listening to most people) will tell you that you do not need self-defense or combative training. What does the Military have to say ?
1-1. PURPOSE OF COMBATIVES TRAINING
Unarmed combat and expedient-weapons training should not be limited to
forward units (Good idea, So lets get you get trained to deal with weapons and multiple attackers).
--- With low-intensity conflict scenarios and
guerrilla warfare conditions, any soldier is apt to face an unarmed
confrontation with the enemy, and hand-to-hand combative training can save
lives. The many practical battlefield benefits of combative training are not
only advantage, It can also—
a. Contribute to individual and unit strength, flexibility, balance, and
cardio respiratory fitness.
b. Build courage, confidence, self-discipline, and esprit de corps.
